He chose a new life in Australia with his wife Anne and they settled in Melbourne where they raised their family. A Secondary School Teacher in Melbourne, a philosopher, a person who cared deeply, a story teller and family man. Described as outgoing, as a man who loved humans and would talk to anybody.

“Even death is not to be feared by one who lives wisely” Goethe. Third son of Katharina Putzfeld and Michael Rey, with three sisters, born in the town of Kerpen, Germany. and emigrated to Australia in 1965. Married Anne Lowndes and had 3 children (Sarah, David and Matthew). 7 Grand children.
