Referred to as Radio 3GA or the mouth from the south – loved to share the town news. Kept her husband on a tight leash, loved to read and loved her grand children. Scones were her signature dish. A devout Catholic, a woman of faith.

Daughter of Sarah and John Thomas Ofarrell. Eldest of 5. Married to Jim Lowndes at 30. A great organiser from age 15 when her father died. Mother of four, three surviving. Nine grand children. A woman of authority who ran the shop, the bakery and the farm.
